Nutrition Ninja Tactics & Optimization Techniques w/ Scott Mendelson

When it comes to fitness and nutrition, one of the biggest challenges many people face is separating misleading/incorrect information on the internet from what truly works.

What are some of the biggest myths and lies that are impacting people?

What are tactics that work well to maximize fat loss and promote good nutrition?

How can we identify if we’re being sold a lie?

On this episode, elite coach, speaker, author and the Director of Infinity Fitness, Scott Mendelson, is back to give high level insights on optimizing the right way.

You cannot use a low-carb or zero-carb approach forever and reach your full potential.
Scott Mendelson

Three Takeaways

If you’re on a relatively low-carb plan, you can use a weight training session of about 45 minutes to wipe out glycogen. After that, you can do an after burner of 20 minutes of steady state cardio.

In order to maximize fat loss, we have to employ macronutrient cycling and promote metabolic flexibility.

If we eat the same things over and over again, our bodies are going to get sick of it. We have to use rotations of different foods to keep food intolerances at bay.

At the start of the show, we discussed some of the changes in professional athlete training and nutrition, along with the importance of accelerating recovery, reducing inflammation, and the importance of macronutrient cycling. Next, we talked about using a cool down following a massive glycogen depletion workout, and food allergies and intolerances. We also talked about why we shouldn’t put too much weight on studies and gurus on the internet, and the power of training with a master.

We also discussed;

  • How protein shakes tax the digestive system and affect absorption
  • The problem with vegan dieting
  • Why effective workouts are 45 minutes or less
