With the coronavirus lockdown keeping us isolated in our own homes, many men and women suffering from hair loss are blocked off from conventional hair growth treatments.
Our safety is paramount right now, but that doesn’t make hair loss any less important.
And nobody wants to deal with the unsightly appearance of thinning hair or patchy bald spots.
The statistics for men and women in the United States alone are appalling:
- 35 million men and 21 million women suffer from hair loss
- 65% of men experience visible hair loss by 60, and 40% of women experience it by 40
- The majority of people seeking hair loss treatments are between the ages of 30-50
So what can we do to help people who are losing their locks of hair at an alarming rate?
And can it be done in the current day and age, where people are restricted from visiting their local medical clinic?
I’m proud to say that it can, and I even have a PROVEN at-home solution you can start using immediately.
First, let’s examine exactly why — and how — people lose their hair in the first place.
What Causes Hair Loss?
There are several factors which can lead to hair loss, but let’s go over the most common ones.
Chronically High Stress Levels
This is something that happens primarily in women, otherwise known as telogen effluvium:
“…telogen effluvium can be induced as a result of stress or extreme hormonal imbalance. This creates a disruption to the normal hair growth cycle in which anagen (growing) hairs prematurely enter the telogen (resting) phase.
Consequently, symptoms begin to appear in the form of short, sudden bouts of hair shedding with little to no hair growth”
As my readers know, high levels of stress are directly connected to chronic inflammation.
Which can also lead to hair damage:
“Recent studies in mice have substantiated the long-held popular belief that stress can exert profound hair growth-inhibitory catagen-inducing and hair-damaging pro-inflammatory effects
If transferable to the human system, the stress effects elucidated for murine hair follicles would result in a marked telogen effluvium under clinical conditions”
Now you see why I am CONTINUALLY preaching the value of doing the inner work!
Your Genetic Makeup
Men are primarily affected by this, as having a close relative who suffers from some form of male pattern baldness (i.e. “androgenetic alopecia”) increases your risk of hair loss.
Receding hairline, thinning hair at the crown…you know what I’m talking about.
While most cases are genetic in nature, the only evidence of a genetic connection involves mutations in the “AR” gene that increase androgen receptor activity within your hair follicles.
This makes the receptors more sensitive to small amounts of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is made from testosterone via the 5α-reductase enzyme:
“…increased growth pressure due to advanced mitosis cannot overcome the compressing pressure on the hair follicle but speeds up and shortens the anagen phase.
Hair follicle cannot grow to its full size and becomes smaller and smaller with each cycle along with the increasing pressure on the hair follicle.”
This is NOT an invitation to stop using therapeutic testosterone, as I firmly believe it is better to be bald and fully optimized than feel like crap every day while keeping a full head of hair.
Poor Lifestyle Habits
Yes, living a “modern bro” lifestyle where you chug down IPAs and feast on McDonald’s can lead to further hair loss:
“Stress, pollution, nutrition, lifestyle, prolonged illness, medications, metabolic disease, smoking, alcohol, which disrupt or deregulate the hair growth cycles, have been associated with hair loss, thinning and poor growth.
These factors affect the hair growth directly and also make the hair roots more sensitive and susceptible to the action of androgens.”
Refusing to live anything less than a fully optimized life is the fastest way to lose those luscious locks of hair.
Certain Medications
There are several documented cases of select medical treatments having hair loss as a common side effect.
Some of them may lead to telegenic effluvium, while others may lead to “anlagen effluvium.” In this type of hair loss, the damage is longer-lasting and it’s not uncommon to see hair loss from the eyelashes and eyebrows .
I can’t list every single medication here, but here are some of the most frequently reported ones:
- Chemotherapy treatments
- SSRIs / Antidepressants like Zoloft and Prozac
- Blood pressure medications like Lopressor and Tenormin
- Cholesterol-lowering drugs such as Lipitor and Zocor
- Prescription antibiotics
It’s worthwhile to speak with your physician if you’ve experience any form of hair loss since you started taking these medications.
Why Traditional At-Home Hair Treatments Fail To Work
Many of you are not going to be able to seek out the expensive, ineffective, and painful options that are normally available:
Platelet-rich plasma injections, fibre fillers, hair transplant surgeries, and so on.
As a result, you may be tempted to seek out the conventional at-home treatments for hair loss.
But I would highly advise agains them for several reasons.
Propecia (Finasteride) and Dutasteride inhibit the 5α-reductase enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT, which makes them a terrible choice for several reasons:
“Not only do they inhibit the testosterone molecule itself (effectively blocking many of the positive effects of TOT), but they also reduce libido (sex drive), weaken the strength of your erections and reduce your fertility by reducing your motile sperm count.”
Minoxidil (Rogaine) is a vasodilator that works through extending the length of the “anagen phase” mentioned earlier.
However, it only works when you get the prescription-strength kind, as the over-the-counter stuff simply isn’t powerful enough to get the results you want.
It’s no wonder why only 38.3% of patients on Minoxidil experience any form of hair growth.
Here’s what most people DO NOT tell you about Minoxidil:
“…it appears that Rogaine is much better at helping people keep and improve the hair they still have than in growing new hair.
While some terminal hair does regrow in some people who use Rogaine, less than 10% show enough new growth in bald areas to cover them, especially in front.
Those who grow a noticeable amount of hair tend to be people whose hair loss is at an early stage.”
And considering the irritably itchy and bright-red scalp it leaves behind due to its alcohol base, it’s simply too inconvenient to use.
As for natural over-the-counter supplements, there’s a fat chance you’ll make any significant progress.
Not only are they completely unregulated, there’s a severe lack of clinical data demonstrating their effectiveness for hair growth or reversing hair loss:
“While vitamin deficiencies — notably iron and vitamin D — can contribute to hair shedding, there just isn’t data to support the efficacy of vitamin supplements, like biotin or Hairfinity. And people spend so much money on them,” dermatologist Marie Leger told Medical Daily.
Leger, who practices dermatology at NYU Langone Medical Center, said approximately 80 to 90 percent of her patients have tried biotin in a failed bid to restore hair loss before stepping into her office.”
Fortunately, there’s a superior and more affordable solution that blows all of these right out of the water.
The Only Two Formulations You Need For Hair Loss
I’ve spent most of 2019 and all of 2020 putting these two compounds in the spotlight.
They have NUMEROUS health benefits, yet “hair loss” was never one I would imagine popping up.
It wasn’t until I did some deep digging where I discovered their untapped potential for helping men and women.
Formulation #1: Aseir Custom GHK-Cu
I’ve written prolifically about the magical copper peptide called GHK-Cu for its ability to rejuvenate and restore your skin’s health.
However, many of its properties directly lead to its effectiveness as an anti-hair-loss treatment.
GHK-CU is angiogenic in nature (i.e. increases blood flow) which means each hair follicle will receive more blood supply and oxygen via the capillary connected to it.
GHK-Cu also has the ability to prevent hair follicles from shrinking in size, even helping them become exceptionally large:
“The effects demonstrated a stimulation of the follicular cell proliferation, resulting in an enlargement of the anagen follicles from vellus to terminal type (therapy to increase hair growth) or a maintenance of the piebald terminal follicles (prevention of hair loss)”
“When rats, pretreated with GHK-Cu analogs, were exposed to cancer chemotherapeutic drugs, hair loss diminished”
On top of that, GHK-Cu can even improve the success of hair transplant procedures by accelerating the re-growth of new hair and reduce the shedding of hair transplants!
In short, GHK-Cu decreases hair loss and thicken the areas where your scalp is thinning…but it also strengthens the hair you already have to make it full and thick.
Not to mention it’s at LEAST as effective as topical Minoxidil, if not more!
Ben Greenfield endorsed GHK-Cu for hair loss on our Peptide Revolution Livestream, where he said GHK-Cu alone kept his hair healthy and shiny – no shampoo or conditioner needed!
Formulation #2: Aseir Custom Carbon 60 (C-60)
Aseir’s Carbon 60 is a unique formulation(in grapeseed oil extract) that is safe for human consumption
It doubled the lifespan of rats in a 2012 study while leaving some positive long-lasting changes in the organs and cells of the rats themselves.
Unlike other forms of C60 that is harmful to humans when improperly processed, this formulation is made with the highest-grade, GMO-free Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil sourced from individual olive orchards.
(FYI: C60 is a unique molecular arrangement of 60 carbon atoms into a close fullerene structure known as a “buckyball”, or buckministerfullerene in formal terms)
I already wrote a deep-dive article about its unmatched antioxidant powers, its immune-boosting ability, and its potential for helping humans live longer and healthier lives.
But how does this translate towards preventing hair loss?
Well, it turns out that a few studies have successfully used C60 in promoting hair growth.
The most pivotal one was a 2009 experiment involving fully bald mice who were shaved clean, mice who were hairless due to their genetic makeup, and human skin cells.
In all three cases, hair growth was consistently observed with fullerene use.
Synthesis of new hair follicles took place, hair strands grew, and several new hair strands appeared over 14 days.
The authors even went as far as to say it was an alternative way to “induce hair growth in the approximately 20% to 50% of individuals in whom minoxidil and finasteride have no effect.”
We don’t know exactly why it works so well, but researchers attribute it to the fullerene’s anti-oxidant properties that fight oxidative stress, which can cause hair loss and impair one’s hair condition.
Another obscure 2010 study out of Japan used a C60 fullerene formula that was applied to the scalp of 16 healthy men twice a day.
Here’s what they found:
“…hair growth rate became 16% faster by as early as after six months. From this result, it was confirmed that fullerene could increase hair growth rate.
This was believed to be caused by protecting the cells around the hair follicle from the active oxygen.”
How To Combine Aseir Custom GHK-Cu And Carbon 60 To Regrow Hair
Fortunately, there exists a special product that combines Carbon 60 with the GHK-CU from Aseir Custom into a combination proprietary solution.
I strongly believe this will be the first market solution you can use at home to significantly reverse hair loss and baldness without any pain or nasty side effects.
